The longer you do anything, the simpler it appears.

My message to Alexander Technique trainees and teachers has been crystallizing in my mind since September 26th, 2012 when I started blogging about what I had learnt building BodyChance in Japan. At that time I thought I knew a lot - turns out I didn't know much at all. I lost of lot of money trying to test my ideas in the real world - the ultimate classroom for a serious entrepreneur.

Most of the comments from the last two weeks are directed to specific situations of ATSuccess participants, so I keep those comments behind closed doors. Sorry it is so brief this time. Join up if you want to know more!

I was within my sadness for over 6 months, yet my girlfriend at the time described my mood as “exquisite”. She loved being around me while I was in that state.

What was she talking about!?!

Yet, I had the same experience of me.

It was exquisite to be there: I was with me, totally. I wasn’t going anywhere.

Sara Lucy Miller recently shared with our group the magnificent retooling of her Alexander Technique teaching into Effortless Body Movement (EBM). She presents it in a style which makes it accessible and easily understood, and offers an "exercise programme" that people find more comfortable as a starting point. You can even get it on video.

Half of the video for free at least - what we call a loss leader. She is positioning EBM as a product people want, then leading them down a path to becoming students. This is what we call a student funnel, aka as a Sales Funnel.

Quiet (for me) this month as I took a self-imposed holiday from producing content. Back in Tokyo now, about to start the annual residential of all our students, teachers and friends. My feeling within ATSuccess this week is that we can do away with Alexander Technique thank you very much, but NOT the work. The old man said it had to evolve, but into what? There's the rub - when it stops looking like what he did, the traditionalists worry. It's right that they worry, but not helpful to them, helpful to me. Why? I know I am doing something different when the feeling all around is "No - that is wrong." Hang on - isn't that exactly a indicator of change? (But not a good one I hear them yelling!)

Sometimes the hardest time to stay awake is when there are no dramas; when the work of keeping your biz fed, well-exercised and healthy is a smattering of small tasks, a consistency of focus and a remembrance of why you are doing it all in the first place. ATSuccess was like this the last week - many people thinking of leaving, taking a break. I think that's the dumbest decision you could make. And I respect your right to make it. I am not here to make you feel good, I am here to share what I have learnt: when the light is dimming, you don't turn it off. You turn it up.

"How many weeks in your year?" he asked me.

(Huh? What's he talking about?) "Well… 52 of course."

"So your biz is open over Christmas and New Year?"

"Um. No. We close"

"So your year is not 52 weeks is it?"
