Suddenly my phone is screaming at me…

(Who is calling at this late hour!?)

"Hallo, BodyChance Studio.

I'm sorry, but now we are close—"

"Please can you help me!?"

(I think: shouldn't we at least do names first?)

"Who is this speaking?"

"Oh I'm sorry, my name is Harry."

(I guess he needs to have this conversation now…)

"What's the problem Harry?"

"I am in a lot of pain. I can't stand it."

My first crisis happened within 2 years of my 18 years of living in Japan happened in Kyoto,

Jaldhara had our young daughter Angelica in the pram, and had just said goodbye. I turned, and started heading down the escalator to go to Tokyo…

And I tripped. I tumbled down the stairs. And - by a remarkable confluence of unexpected factors - dislocated my arm. OUCH!

The worst part was being alone. Speaking no Japanese. Having no idea what to do next.

So I screamed. I screamed as loud as the air in my body would let me…

Many readers have told me that they like my Daily Blog – and hate it. BOTH.

Every day, you just never know.

Which is my point of course.

Nonsense. If you teach one lesson a day, you say more than you could ever fit in one email. You are a living, breathing content creator, whether you recognise it or not.

The obstacle is never:

"What am I doing to say?"

Big learning curves for jc (ME).

(I need a nick name for my Self - any ideas?)

First big shock was with a famous bank here in Japan.

Years ago now, can't say which bank - they don't like it. One the big ones. We had a strong supporter who opened the door for us. I didn't do it because, well jc has no Japanese, he is often in Australia, and bringing a translator in toe is clumsy/difficult to price/organise and follow through etc. etc. etc.

I've been coaching two friends - both with the same surname which is funny - about how to love. Young Japanese men who need an older senpai.（先輩）ME.

One gay, one straight - and you know what?

It doesn't matter.

Mammals are all the same when it comes to love.

There are no new love stories. Oxytocin, an occasional dash of sensible serotonin - he doesn't, she doesn't; when will he? why doesn't she? She can't. He will. I don't. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.

It's all the same.

On an ATSuccess call at 5am this morning, it popped out that one teacher had spent a year resisting the idea of sending emails to her audience.

Blogging yes, emails no.

Now, I don't know why that is the case.

However, I do know why I once felt this way.

I worried that people would be annoyed, that they would unsubscribe; that instead of serving them, I would be disturbing them. And that disturbed me.

This morning, I had an epiphany about this.

What if you could improve 3 systems by only focusing on one?

Wouldn't that be cool?

Here are 3 modern-day health obsessions, concerning input and distribution:

1. what you eat
   (digestive system)
2. how you breathe
   (respiratory system)
3. fitness
   (cardio-vascular system)

What if there was a way to improve ALL THREE SYSTEMS AT ONCE?

Firstly, I wonder if people would be suspicious…

I've always been trying to run away from Japan.

I feel like Al Pacino as Michael Corleone in the Godfather III* movie, when he growls:

"Every time I think I have left, they keep pulling me back in!"

The first time, I took a 6 month sabbatical from BodyChance, and lived in Australia with my family. I tried to start BodyChance in Sydney, and all I succeeded in doing was losing $40,000, disappointing 5 trainees, ending my marriage, getting another retinal detachment and very nearly destroying a beautiful friendship.

Part of my work involves getting up at 3.30am to coach clients scattered around the world.

At first I reacted with horror; now I get up at 3.30am anyway.

In Tokyo, the light is already peeping through the clouds by 4am.

The streets are deserted, the traffic lights aimlessly changing in vacant stupidity. It's quiet, and there you see a tall, erect-looking man, thumping along the side of the river alone, wondering why he would want anyone to love him?
