One of the mentors I follow – the ego-inflated and brilliant Dan-Kennedy-look-alike Ben Settle - once sent out an email with a subject heading:

"Stop Lying to Your Customers"

It was out of the mouth of a 9-year-old, speaking to a Reporter from the South China Morning Post.

The event this child was so reluctantly forced to attend was dubbed the ‘Hong Kong Way’ - it involved an estimated 135,000 people forming a 60km chain of people in circles around Hong Kong. And her mother forced her to do it.

Some days are bummers.

We all have them. And we all get low. 

Anyone reading this who was never depressed?

As a summer exercise, I decided to watch the top 25 TED talks of all time.

Years ago, my sister gave me a book by the Diamond Approach author A. H. Almaas "The Unfolding Now." It's a marvellous book for the spiritually inclined, and gets quite whacky and fun towards the end.

However, there was one page that rocked me to my roots.

After a Chancer Daily about my regular morning run along Meguro river, Malcolm dropped me a line to say:

"When you run try and think splat (Landing foot gets longer and wider!!) on the landing rather than thump thump!! Just saying.

My knee was starting to hurt. 

This was 35 years ago, and my knee had been starting to play up. One day was so bad - it throbbing at night. I was only a fresh young teacher of Alexander's discovery at the time; and a little embarrassed that I even had this problem!

Are teachers of Posture supposed to be perfect?

It's a curious thing, but top-down projections from our brain's cortical region (the smart part) are far more numerous than the signals that move up our cortical hierarchy.

From a little input, we reply with massive output.

As the Blakeslees' put it in their marvellous "The Body Has A Mind of Its Own" book:

Shinjuku is the largest station in the world.

Every day, the equivalent population of Sydney – 4 million people - pass through the station. Of course, Shinjuku is in Japan. It is a maze of stations, subways, railways, shops, tunnels, bridges - all under the banner "Shinjuku Station."

And it was there – 14 years ago – that I lost my wife.

(oh, & btw – I am a dog.)

People look down on me for doing that. But all the local dog gossip is in their wee-wees – don't you see that?
