I have been struck recently by the lucky Yoga niche connections Cecile has been documenting for us in ATSuccess Village. Angela, on our Pro Skype sessions, has been experiencing the same thing in her niche in the UK. People contacting them both with work requests - wonderful.

I am asking - are they lucky?

All my pain is selfish - I discovered that again today. Per usual, just a glimmer - but a liberating glimmer that I want to underline by writing about it…

My hurt, whenever it arises, feels to me like it is because of you. There was an action from your side, a reaction on my side, and I give it a false linear causality: you affected me.

Recently, I felt I wasn't doing enough for you all in ATSuccess Basic, and then it was time to post this summary of my answers to your questions for the last two weeks… 2,420 words.

It was August 1988, the year of the Brighton Congress and the first time Marj had stepped on to the shores of England since (she said): "…the Germans came and went."

I'd been an Alexander Technique teacher for 8 years, now suffering a humiliating and debilitating injury: I could hardly pick up a cup of tea in my left hand. Three months earlier my father had died; and just before arriving at the Congress, I had dislocated my left shoulder while rock climbing in Sweden.

This month I am writing for people who wonder how to use Facebook for their Alexander Technique practise: if you don't feel confident in knowing the definitive difference between a timeline and a page, or a personal profile and a newsfeed, or how to use those in your business, then I can give you some important insights about that.

As usual in our secret Facebook ATSuccess group - a wide variety of topics came up for inquiry. Here is a sampling of some of my comments and answers posted to the group. Some group members prefer just to read my summaries, and not participate in the group. I think each of us needs to find a way to make mentoring work, but I am adamant that being in a mentoring group like this will accelerate, deepen and satisfy your desire to create a healthy Alexander Technique teaching practise.

About 6 months ago, Facebook made a huge decision.

Mark Zuckerberg finally agreed to let adds appear in Facebook's Newsfeed.

"It drives me crazy when people write stuff and assert that we're doing something because the goal is to make a lot of money," he told the Wall Street Journal. But guess what?

Facebook is going to make a lot of money.

Back in 1980, one of my key methods to attract students to our Sydney studio was to stand on the stage in Hyde Park, and declare myself the ringmaster of a $100 competition. This was the most bizarre competition that anyone had heard or seen before, and I used to attract a large crowd of bemused onlookers, curious to discover the "trick" of my simple challenge.

To win, you just had to stand up from a chair without pulling your head back.

Where I live in Australia, we have three mail boxes out front. It’s at the bottom of a steep driveway, so someone needs to walk the letters up to the house. One mailbox is disused, and lies neglected on it’s side. One is usually empty - that’s mine, because I check it regularly - and the one is full of letters.

Full of actual letters: bills, a Xmas card, notices of many different kinds. Maybe there’s some junk mail there too, but not the kind of junk I would risk just throwing in the bin. However, my tenants downstairs never check their mailbox.
